VC Rockers Blog Hop

Welcome fellow stampers to VC Rocker Blog Hop, you have arrived at stop #8.  This is my first time participating in a Blog Hop.  I am so excited!

More than likely you have arrived from stop #7 ~ Stamping Fun with Kim

Our assignment was to use Stampin' Up! punches.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do until I thought about Halloween (my favorite time of the year).  I know it's a bit early, but there's no time like the present to start, right?

Hope that you like what I have created for you to view here...these are very colorful and fun to make.  I used our Stampin' Up! Cellophane Bags that will become available with the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog.  They are a great size at 1" by 8".  I put Gobstoppers in them and used the stamp set Spooky Bingo Bits.  These will be great for give-aways at my stamp camps.

I have had so much fun this year with the Rockers.  They are a great and very talented bunch of women, and lots of fun!  I learn so much from them.  I can't wait for next year.

Next stop is Nichole's Scrappy Stamps & Ink

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Happy Friday everyone.  This weekend VC Rocker Yahoo Group is having their last Blog Hop for the year.  If you have time this weekend come join the fun and see what everyone creates, the theme is Stampin'Up punches.  Have a great weekend.

How do you like my new background?  I am going to work on a new header with MDS (My Digital Studio) this weekend; hopefully I will be able to figure it out.

Hope you had a great weekend, I certainly did.  I saw some hot air balloons in Everett and thought of this new set.  I love the colors together; I think they are so soothing.  For the clouds, I rain Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, punched them out using the  Cupcake Punch, then I sponged some Baja Breeze around them so they would show up.

We all have our talents, right?  One of mine is making toast.  Wow, Janice, how special, I imagine you're saying.  How long did it take to master that one?  Please.  Save your sarcasm until you've had a piece of toast buttered by this half-German hand.  See, butter is one of the main food groups for my people.  We like our food simple and perfect.  Standing by the toaster is the only way to make toast, a fact that drives my husband up the wall.  "There's a setting, you know.  You don't have to stand there on guard."  He's so naive.  Of course I do!  I have to flip the toast midway through to ensure perfect toasting symmetry.  I have to make sure it doesn't get too dark or come out too early, a pale, floppy imitation of true toast.  And then, the very second it's done, I have to slather it with perfectly softened butter, from corner to corner, end to end.  No molecule of bread is left unattended.

When I was a kid and spent the night with my best friend their toast was cold.  The butter on top was rock solid and icy.  I took this as a sign that my friends parents hated me and couldn't wait for me to leave, because really, what other reason could there have been to give your guest...that?  It bore no resemblance to the carefully prepared, infused-with-love toast that my family made.  Waffles, pancakes and French toast all get the same attention that a pediatric surgeon might pay to a particularly difficult operation.  It's worth it.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope your toast this morning was perfect!

This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy stayed at home.
This little piggy has roast beef.
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy cried “Wee! Wee! Wee!” all the way home.

My good friend, Cherry, loves pigs, so with her in mind, I made this piggy card.

Recently, I saw the movie Bridesmaids, and I just loved it.  It was funny, sure--it starred Kristin Wiig from Saturday Night Live, so I was pretty sure I'd laugh.  But I wasn't expecting it to be so touching, too.  Themes of friendship and self-worth, the fear of change and failure and reinvention...all handled beautifully.  I also didn't expect to have that tugging feeling for the somewhat unlikely hero.  He was so likable! The language was foul (which doesn't bother me personally), and there were a couple of uncomfortable scenes, but I haven't enjoyed a ro-co movie this much since Bridget Jones's Diary.

Speaking of Weddings, my good friend, Tina Waddell, daughter is getting married.  Tina made the most beautiful shower invitation, you can't see them in the picture, but there are pearls on the dress.  So cute.  She also made the wedding announcement which is pretty fantastic.  I just love how it turned out; everything fits so perfectly and looks fantastic.  Great job Tina, you are soooo talented!!

Good Morning.  Well it finally feels like summer here.  The garden is blooming away, the weeds are thriving, the mosquitoes are buzzing around...ah, summer!  I love this time of year...there's a bittersweet edge to knowing that soon, the kids will be back in school, (one of my grandkids starts kindergarten), the leaves will start turning, the humming birds will start their flight south.  But for now...iced coffee on the deck, baseball on the radio, a great book for company, wow...couldn't be better than this.

Here's a cute card I did for a friend whose son is turning 4 and loves trucks and tractors.  Thanks for stopping by.
